 BACON WIENIES!
I will not be allowed at the neighborhood potluck each August, without these!

1 pound bacon
1 package of little sausages or weiners
1 pound of brown sugar
Toothpicks
Slow Cooker

Pull the bacon out of the package and onto cutting board or large plate, keeping it in one piece. With a clean kitchen shears, just slice vertically, across the pound of bacon twice....thus making each slice of bacon into 3 small slices in just two swoops. Make sense?
Wrap pieces of bacon around the little sausages and poke a toothpick through. Place in crockpot.  Sprinkle brown sugar on top and cover and cook on low for about 6-7 hours.  The sugar will mix with the bacon grease and crystalize somewhat on the weinies. Very Healthy.  Not!  Let me know if you want to know how to do these in the oven. The picture shows us using a 2 quart crock pot.  When doubling the recipe, use a 4 or 5 quart crock pot.
